Acania

uh - KAY - nee - uh

Our name and spirit of curiosity were inherited by our grandfather.

In the 1950s, our grandfather, Carl Rehnborg, explored the nutrient value of plankton off the coast of Alaska aboard his research vessel, Acania.

More than half a century later in Oregon, we have brought the same spirit of inquiry to the soil on our farm, Acania.

We’ve traded the sea for the soil, but the mission remains the same: to explore the ecosystems below the surface that define the health of the world above it.

Our History

For more than three generations, the Rehnborg family has been asking what creates health.

That question has led us through soil, plants, nutrition, and human vitality, and it continues to guide the work at Acania today.

We honor where we come from, but we are not here to simply preserve the past. Carrying forward the legacy of our grandfather and father, we are asking the next generation of questions about how we nourish ourselves, our communities, and the living world around us.
