Rachel

Soil Biology Program Manager & Farmer

Rachel leads Acania’s soil biology program and brings a rare mix of science, farming experience, and deep care for the living world beneath our feet. She oversees our composting protocols, microscopy work, soil health trials, market garden, and educational gardens. With a background in horticulture, organic farming, plant pathology, and research, Rachel helps translate big questions about soil, plants, and health into real practices on the farm. She is our resident scientist, teacher, grower, and one of the people helping Acania learn directly from the land.

Rachel has a B.S. in Horticulture with a specialization in organic and sustainable horticulture (Michigan State University) and M.S. in Horticulture (Oregon State University).
